The genre of animation films remains largely unrecognised and attracts film enthusiasts only when a big name uses puppets to animate his universe offantasy. At the crossroads between cinema and finearts, animation films offer an extraordinary scope forexperimentation and imagination. The Alliance Francaise is attempting to change thatperception. They recently presented a package ofselect animated films. Not the usual run of the millTom and Jerry classics but French animation films.Inspired by the Hans Christen Anderson tales, theywere full of humour and irony. The ten films --- from Jaques Colombat`s Marcel,ta mere t`appelle made in 1971 to Jaques the 1991animation Robinson et Cie, a 71 minutes featurelength animation directed by Jaques again presentedan entire gamut of emotions. | ||||||||||||||
